World Of Motion

The World Of Motion (sponsored by GM) was a classic Disney attraction. It told the history of transportation. It had lots of things going for it. First, it used the Omnimover ride system (like the Haunted Mansion) which can cycle lots of guests through an attraction per hour because the cars continuously move and don't stop for loading or unloading. Second, this attraction was chock full of Audio-Animatronic figures. The ride also featured a fun theme song "It's Fun To Be Free". After disembarking the ride one would arrive in the Transcenter which featured several exhibits and minor attractions and displayed GM's latest model cars. In the Transcenter, for several years, one could pick up a World Of Motion Souvenir Guidebook like the two shown below. Sadly this attraction closed in 1996 to make way for the far less inspired GM Test Track.
