Silversmith

Perhaps we should stop in and pick up a new silver tea service.

Sid Cahuenga's One Of A Kind Tinseltown Treasures

I was severly disappointed when I visited this shop a couple of weeks ago.  Back in
the first five or six years of the Studio I spent a good deal of money here on press packets, movie posters, publicity stills and such.  Now the shop seems to carry only the same tired framed autographed photos one can find in many malls across the country.  Needless to say, they won't be getting any more of my money.  Still, I love the craftsman bungalow style of the shop.

Carthay Circle

Some new shots of the Carthay Circle on Sunset Boulevard.  One of them is oddly similar to a photo I've taken before.

Legends Of Hollywood

Based on the Academy Theater in Los Angeles which you can see here.  All but one one of the interior pictures below are from last month.  Somehow over the years I never took any photos of this facade.  I don't recall the facade having the white and tan two-tone paint job that it has now.  I thought it was all white like the original building.

Endor Vendors

The fantastic Endor Vendors sign with crashed Speeder Bike.

Endor Vendors was much more well themed to the area than Tattoine Traders which resides here now.

Darth Vader keeps watch over the interior waiting to choke you with the Force if you don't purchase enough souvenirs.

A stormtrooper surveys for shoplifters.

The Toy Soldier

The Toy Soldier was the original shop in this location featuring British toys.  Today this is home to the Sportsman's Shoppe.

This mechanized royal court scene can still be found inside the door farthest right on the facade.  This is just a small portion of the scene.

Singapore Sal's Saleable Salvage

Another new and old comparison today.  Not much has changed at Sal's over the years.  A few minor adjustments to the sign and props have taken place and the merchandise inside has gotten a lot more boring.

The first two pictures are newish, the last two are from 1990.

Notice there a fewer props on the roof and there is a shark bite out of the surfboard "Souvenirs" sign.
