Minnie's Green Thumb

Minnie has some interesting plants growing in her conservatory.

Tiger Lillies

Dandelions and Twolips

If you look to your right, you'll see a Palm Tree.

A hanging basket of Buttercups and what garden is complete without a Daisy plant?

Adventureland

I've always thought Adventureland was the most beautiful land at the Magic Kingdom.  The layering of details on the buildings and the jungle that seems to go on forever make this land seem so lush and real.  Most if not all of these pictures are from different sections of what was the Adventureland Veranda restaurant and show some of the interesting architectural details in this "colonial" section of Adventureland.

Roof detail.

I can just imagine lounging here drinking a mimosa.

Characters and Entertainment

A couple of character pics from my latest visit to the Magic Kingdom a few weeks ago.

Boy, Daisy sure knows how to strike a pose!  Pictures by Taylor Gentle.

Taylor and I stopped for pictures with Alice and boy was she chatty.  All I could think was, "Doesn't she see the eighty people in line behind us?"  Pictures by Brad Gentle

A little Main Street Entertainment.

The only shot I got of Daisy.

Pluto and Pinocchio.

Theme Park Records

These are a couple of records from my vast collection.  I purchased all three of these in the late 80's before I officially started collecting vinyl.  I listened to these records endlessly.  I'm surprised they still play but they still sounded pretty good when I transferred them to MP3 a while back.

The Official Album of Disneyland/Walt Disney World was released in 1980.

The Official Album of Walt Disney World EPCOT Center was released in 1983.  My favorite track from this album was the Kitchen Kabaret Medley from one of my favorite shows ever.

The Official Album of Disneyland Walt Disney World was released in 1988.

Fantasia Gardens

Hole 2 - Tocatta and Fugue
"The notes upon the staff you see
May seem quite lovely musically
But now, as you begin to play
You'll see they may get in your way"

Hole 3 - Tocatta and Fugue
"Before our little fugue concludes
The music swells and changes mood
Avoid the rests and you will hear
Chimes a ringing sweet and clear"

Fantasia Gardens

Approaching...

Closer...

We're here!

And then, later that night...

Our tee time as arrived.

Hole 1 - Toccata and Fugue
"Our musical game has just begun
And here comes treble for everyone
Up to the top the ball must run
For any hope of a hole-in-one"

Fore!

The Magic Kingdom

These shots were all taken from the roof of the Contemporary Resort.  They all come from the late 80's and early 90's.  Lots of changes have taken place since then.
This is prior to Tomorrowland's re-theming.  You can see the Starjets, the Skyway, the old Tomorrowland gates and the entire land is still gleaming white.

In this shot you can see Splash Mountain under construction to the left of Big Thunder Mountain.  Everybody's got a Laughin' Place.

Here we have the "new" Magic Kingdom bus terminal under construction.  It's been there so long now that I can't remember what it was like before.
