A Grand Circle Tour Of Tomorrowland

A little smattering of everything Tomorrowland.

Work continues in the hub near Main Street.

As I said when I posted this picture on Instagram, more of Tomorrowland needs to look like this!

Early WDW

While helping my grandmother go through her shed a couple of weeks ago, we came across some photo albums that she didn't even know she had.  Inside I found a few pictures of Disney from the early 70's.

This shot from 1976 features a 3 year old Brian (bottom right) and a spectacular view of the castle forecourt before the entire area was filled in with a stage.

I believe all of the white framed pictures are from the same trip but the photos were undated.  Pictures of the Contemporary at the bottom of the page feature cars that could pinpoint the date but that's not an area where I have any expertise.

This shot of Fantasy Faire is from 1974 or 1975 and features a performance by Scat Cat and his band from the Aristocats.

Also not sure of the date on this photo but we have a stage in the forecourt now.

Brian At The Contemporary

Here are a couple of pictures of myself at the Contemporary from the 90's.

This one is actually from the 2000 Disneyana Convention (with Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora).

My junior year of high school (1990) our prom was held at the Contemporary.  Here my date and I strike a pose with Mickey.

From 1991 or 1992, I'm goofing around in the lobby while taking a break from the parks.  I believe that's an EPCOT hat on my head that I didn't even remember having until I saw this picture.

Contemporary Guest Room

Here are a couple of pictures of a Contemporary Resort guest room circa 1999.  A little bit of pattern overload, I would say.  My favorite part (not visible in the picture) is the orange wavy line that ran across the carpet that I constantly thought looked like an extension cord stretched across the room.

Contemporary Resort Convention Center

All of these photos of the convention center come from the 90's shortly after its completion.  While I like the building itself, it always bothered me the way that it ruined the overall look of the front of the Contemporary.  Of course, this argument seems even less relevant now with the addition of the DVC building which really stands out like a sore thumb.
