Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse

Today we journey further into the home of the Swiss Family Robinson.

Looking back across the river we see the queue area for the attraction.  It's hard to believe there was a time when this attraction actually had a line (though I personally recall many times waiting in line and not having time to stop and take pictures due to the crush of people behind trying to climb up and down the tree).

Finally we've reached the trunk of the tree.  Almost time to start climbing.

Sneaking a peak across the way to the kitchen which we won't pass till later.

Detail of stair railings.

More kitchen from afar.

A little bit of the Library.

View of the river and jungle beyond.  Beware of tigers!

The Great Movie Ride - Raiders Of The Lost Ark

The dust of 3000 years lies undisturbed in this ancient burial chamber.  On the chest of the great stone god, a priceless jewel.  But the jewel is guarded by a curse.

Halt unbeliever!  Disturb the treasure of the gods and you shall all pay with your lives.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

This is the last of the pre-digital era pics of BTMRR.

Another one with a Keel Boat on the far right.

Taken from Liberty Square across the Rivers of America and between Tom Sawyer Island and the island where Fort Sam Clemens is located.

This and the next picture are probably from 1987 or 1988.

Views from Castaway Creek

Here are some pictures taken while rafting on Castaway Creek on the 19th.  There are plenty more of these to come.

It may have been 96 degrees but I felt perfectly refreshed in the waters of the Creek.

Call a plumber!  The waterworks has sprung a leak.

Mannequins Dance Palace

Happy Birthday to me.  If it was still open, there's a good chance that I would be at Mannequins this evening to celebrate.

Lights.  Mannequins had the best lighting of any club I've ever patronized.

The amazing rotating dance floor as seen from Dawn's bar.

The rotating dance floor as seen from the second floor.

Looking towards the stage from near Dawn's bar.

A crowded rotating dance floor as seen from the second floor.

Mannequins drop down screen.

Storm cloud drop down screen in front of the stage.

Fantasyland Skyway Station

With all of the buzz surrounding the beautiful Fantasyland Skyway Station and its destruction I though I would post this great vintage postcard.  The station and its wonderful wooded hillside was always such a relief after the concrete jungle that is most of Fantasyland.

Skyway Over The Magic Kingdom
Soaring high over the Magic Kingdom, guests aboard the Skyway gain a spectacular panorama of Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and beyond.

Mickey's Birthdayland/Starland

All of today's pictures date back to between 1988 and 1990.
