Under The Sea

I finally got to see the Journey of the Little Mermaid.  Overall I really enjoyed it and was probably most thrilled just by the fact that Disney built a new omnimover dark ride.  The exterior of the attraction is stunning and is the focus of today's pictures.

This is one of the things that I don't like.  The main reason is that it just doesn't make sense.  A typical female figure head, even if cartoonish, would make more sense than having Ariel.  Nitpicky, perhaps, but how I feel.

A family of ducks frolick in the shadow of Eric's castle.

The water features of the area are one of the best parts.  It brings back some of the feeling that was lost with the removal of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, a loss that I still lament.  Somewhere there is supposed to be an image of the Nautilus carved into the rock but I didn't see it this trip.

Next time we will journey further into the grotto.

  1. This is really beautiful! How much new stuff do they have now?

  2. Not counting Storybook Circus which is just rethemed and relocated attractions, there is this, a Belle meet and greet which has some interesting effects (I've seen video but not seen in person), Belle's village (gift shop and restaurant), and the Be Our Guest Restaurant in Beast's castle (which I have also yet to visit). Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster opens next year.

  3. Wow! Exciting changes. Maybe the Snow White themed ride can compensate for some of the absence of the classic attraction. Are the crowds really crazy, preventing you from making it to some of the new additions?
