Diamond Horseshoe Revue

Remember when the Diamond Horseshoe used to be open?  And have a show?  Those were the good old days.  Many a trip to the Magic Kingdom began with a stop at the Hospitality House first thing in the morning to snag a reservation ticket for the show.  I suppose if it was still open today it would be on the Disney dining reservation system and be booked up forty years in advance.  In many ways the show was similar to what can still be seen at the Hoop-Dee-Doo dinner show at Fort Wilderness.  I suppose this is one of the reasons it was removed.  Still, it added something to the Liberty Square/Frontierland area.  I miss it.

Tikis

I'm leaving this morning to head to Fort Lauderdale for the Hukilau, a celebration of tiki and Polynesian pop culture, taking place in Fort Lauderdale this weekend.  This will be my second year attending and I can't wait.

Today's post is of some tiki decorations used in Adventureland during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party last year.

The Orange Bird Record Album

You can't imagine my thrill several years ago when I found this album at a Goodwill Store.  I practically jumped up and down with glee.  With Orange Bird fever hitting the web these days I thought I'd better post this.  From 1971, The Orange Bird!
