ABC Commissary

Originally named Disney-MGM Studios Commissary.  I think maybe I ate in here once.  I haven't even stepped inside this building since at least 1996.

Disneyland Monday - Tarzan's Treehouse

One of my goals on my trip to Disneyland was to be sure and see all of the things that make it different from Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  Some of this I didn't accomplish because I was with a group of people and had to be relatively sensitive to their desires.  Others didn't happen because I just didn't care.  Tarzan's treehouse falls into the latter category.  In my opinion, turning the Swiss Family Treehouse into anything else is pure insanity and I want nothing to do with it.  I did however take this one picture as I passed by.

Then suddenly we were in New Orleans Square.  The transition (or lack of transition) from Adventureland was quite abrupt and is one of the things that I most remember from my trip.  I don't think that's a good thing.

Fort Wilderness Matchbox

I believe I picked this up sometime in the mid-nineties.

Empress Lilly Swizzle Stick

I dug this out of a big bin of swizzle sticks at the Hukilau earlier this year.  I think I paid $3 for it and it's worth every penny.  On a related note, I've started a vintage swizzle stick collection.

Disneyland Monday - Peter Pan's Flight

Unlike the castle courtyard/medieval fair theme of WDW's Fantasyland, Disneyland has beautiful rich European architecture.

Fort Wilderness Halloween Hayride

I'm a bit late posting these as I should have done it a week ago.  These pictures were taken back in 2006.  This was so much fun and I really wanted to do it this year and was disappointed that they didn't offer it.  Our wagon took us into the darkest reaches of the wilderness to the edge of Sleepy Hollow where we were pursued by the headless horseman.  These pictures aren't the best as we were riding along in the dark and it was really hard to see what I was photographing.

Our noble steed wait to take us into the wilds of Fort Wilderness.

The Headless Horseman's lost his head!

Oh no!  There he is!

Was this an omen about the Lucasfilm purchase that would take place six years later?  It looks like the Headless Horseman has a lightsaber.

Spooky graveyard!

Disneyland Monday - Jungle Cruise

The Jungle Cruise was the second attraction I visited on my only trip to Disneyland back in 2007.  Here are a couple more pictures that I didn't post previously.  One of them is specifically for my frientd Susan.  Because of the dim light in the jungle these pictures my point and shoot camera took are a little blurry.

Merrily On Our Way To Nowhereinparticular

Sadly I only have a couple of pictures of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride from it's existence and all are of the exterior or load/unload area.  The first two pictures are from different visits but taken from almost identical vantage points.

This is a later picture of the marquee after it was upgraded to be three dimensional.

We are about to begin our ride by crashing into Toad Hall.

A much younger Brian and friend have just escaped from Hell in this 1991 shot.
