Cruising The Rivers Of America

The majestic Admiral Joe Fowler, an authentic steam-powered sternheeler, sets sail from Liberty Square on a scenic cruise of the frontier "Rivers of America".

I love this view of the Haunted Mansion.  There are no obstructions or additions - no queue canopy, no next-gen queue - just a simple, beautiful structure.  It's also neat in these old images to see the park before the trees grew in.  Look how the Mansion towers over everything else including the treetops.  It really gives it an imposing look.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Today's mountain pics are all from the pre-digital era though I don't believe any of these are particularly old.  I think they all come from the mid 90's up to about 2002 or so.

Look at that line.  I can distinctly remember right after Big Thunder opened and waiting in lines like this only to get inside and see the queue going on for another 14 miles or so.

You know this is a pretty old picture because there's a Keel Boat traversing the Rivers of America just to the right of Big Thunder.

This was probably taken from Fort Sam Clemens on Tom Sawyer Island.
